printing techniques

We offer a variety of techniques so you get the perfect print you envisioned.

four color process

Using a four-color process of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, we are not limited by the amount of screens and colors our press can handle.  We are able to combine those four colors to utilize a wider range of the color spectrum and produce an overall more vivid print.  This method is particularly useful in recreating photo quality images.  Please be mindful that not every image will work well with this process.  We will review the request to determine if it's a suitable method before proceeding and suggest an alternative if it is not.

spot color process

Spot Color Process is designed so that each color is individual and mixed separately before being used for printing. We use the Pantone Matching System to create custom colors based on your artwork and mix the ink in house to ensure that any and all unique colors in your design are matched and executed beautifully.

halftone gradient

A halftone technique allows an image to be printed in dots of ink with varying concentration to create the illusion of shade without using an excess of ink. We would suggest utilizing this technique for photo prints or a finer detailed color fades. Please be mindful that with increased detail and finer halftone, the closer together those dots will become. This means that some of the image may fill in during the printing process of such smaller detail. We can review and advise if this is the right choice for your design.

simulated process

Simulated Process is more commonly used to recreate almost any image on the market. It accomplishes the print using halftones and spot colors (or PMS colors) to produce the image. The benefits to Simulated Process is that the ink it uses is more opaque and therefore more stable and reliable to work with to print nearly any design on any garment. This method is useful when working with designs that are too complex to separate into a vector program, raster images, photographs and complex tonal illustrations.

full opacity

If you would like a strong, solid print of your image we will print two to three coats of ink on the garment to achieve full opacity and display the ink's true color. If this is the look you desire, please be mindful that printing multiple layers to get this look will mean that the image will feel thick on the shirt and lose its soft-hand feel. Please be mindful that some fabrics will hold the ink better than others and depending on the fabric, the design may still appear a bit transparent with multiple layers.

single pASS

If you would like a much more soft-handed feel to your print and an immediate worn, vintage look to your garment then printing with a single pass would be our recommendation. This will provide transparency of the image with the shirt, and the garment choice can accentuate that well-loved look even further.

distressed

If you're wanting a true, well-worn vintage aesthetic to your design, we can assist by adding and printing texture into your design to give that classic, beat-up look. We can combine with a single pass print to really bring it full circle and give it that vintage edge.
